SANDRA JACKMAN
Sandra Jackman was born in New York City in 1937. She is a self-taught
artist who lives and works in New York.
Sandra’s work has been exhibited in nineteen one person shows across
the United States since 1967.
A small sampling of group exhibits includes “A survey of Bookworks by
Photographers” at the Thomas J. Watson Library, Metropolitan Museum of
Art, New York, 1986; The International Art Fair “Art 18” Basel,
Switzerland, 1987; “Books as Art” from the Ruth and Marvin Sackner
Archives of Concrete and Visual Poetry, Boca Raton Museum of Art, 1991;
and nine separate exhibits at the National Museum of Women in the Arts,
Washington, D.C. 1992-2007, as well as “The Book as Art” Artists’ Books
from the National Museum of Women in the Arts at the McMullen Museum of
Art at Boston College “In the Spirit of the Book” at the Brooklyn
Public Library in 2010.
